My name is Bea and I have been working as a professional photographer for over 15 years. I am originally from Poland, but over many years I have lived and worked in various countries including Germany, Netherlands and England.
Over a decade ago, I created the Bebe brand specializing in family and children's photography.
I have been doing this work continuously since 2009.
Working as a professional children's photographer has given me a great sense of satisfaction and professional success, which I feel while looking at my work done over the last years. In my professional life, I have performed over 3 thousand children's sessions as well as many family, portrait and charity sessions.
Since July 2023, I have been living in Stavanger, where I continue my work.
I'm constantly educating myself. I have a diploma of a professional photographer, certificates of completion of many photography courses and workshops, including those carried out by the prestigious Nikon School of Photography. I also have a bachelor's degree in film and media studies and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in social media management.
I strongly believe that photographic work with children - in addition to excellent technical skills, efficient camera operation and the ability to work with continuous light - also requires very specific personal predispositions and character traits. Delicacy and patience are the main success factors in photographic work with such a tiny model.
Working with children gives me creative fulfillment and a lot of joy, which I take from my little models during the session.
Children's photo sessions, especially sessions of newborns and toddlers, due to their specificity, require maximum comfort for both models and parents,
which is why
all photo sessions are done at the client's home.
Of course, except for outdoor sessions, which are a different type.
What do we need to make a professional photo session at your home?
To perform the session, we need about 5-6 square meters of a room with the natural light (near by the window, room on upper floor etc.). During the shooting, I use delicate lamps that are safe for babies. All the necessary accessories for the session such as backgrounds, benches, baskets, blankets, etc. I will bring with me. During the session, we can use home accessories (e.g. wooden toys, children's stuffed animals, etc.) if there is such a wish. It is important! We can always take a family photo, in this case make sure you are ready with the right clothes in a similar colors, patterns and style.
How long it takes?
Standard photo session should last maximum 1,5 hour. Standard photo session means session for the toddler or older child, and it includes usually from one to three styles (outfit changes). You should add about half an hour for setting up the equipment, i.e. background, lamps, etc. If you have chosen a package with family photos, or if the session includes more than one child, you must add a separate time for it.
Of course, the duration of the session depends on how well the child cooperates, but the session should not last longer than 2 hours.
A newborn session has a specific character and may last from 2 to 4 hours. We spend most of our time preparing the baby, putting into sleep, feeding and settling down. The safety and comfort of the newborn is a priority, which is why these sessions have an extended duration.
How to prepare for the session?
Prepare a place to set up the background and lamp (about 5 square meters), preferably next to a large window. Prepare nice clothes for the child and for yourself if we are taking family photos. If you want to take photos with toys that are particularly important to the child, prepare them as well. Remember that your pet can also participate in the session :) It is worth preparing more things so that you can then choose the ones you will use during the photo shooting. Trust your photographer and decide together which accessories will look best in the photos.
When will we get the photos?
5 days after the session, you will receive an email with files of photos taken during the session. These will be unprocessed, low-resolution photos containing a watermark. You will have 7 business days to choose the most beautiful photos and send the numbers of the selected photos to the photographer for graphic processing. 7-14 days later you will receive the processed photos in full resolution by e-mail. You will receive prints, albums or other orders within the next 14 business days.
If you have trouble choosing photos to edit, ask the photographer for help. You can also immediately agree with the photographer that she will choose the photos from the session, and not you, which will save you time and problems with choosing photos.
Every year, since 2014, we have been implementing a charity project in the form
of free children photo sessions posing with their pets.
As a result, a beautiful and unique charity calendar is created.
The project is very popular among both children and parents, and has been implemented continuously for eight years.
Another ninth edition is on the go.
